Did you not hear?! There is now very convincing proof that God created the universe! And, what it more this is proven in thousands of laboratories across the world!
Think about it. When is there more scientific discovery in a laboratory, while the scientists are there or when they are at home asleep in their beds? Of course, the answer is while the supposedly intelligent scientists are in their laboratories. So, every night in many thousands of laboratories across the world the theory of intelligent design is proven scientifically over and over conclusively. Without the scientists (intelligence), nothing is discovered! Well, not really nothing. But, only those processes that were set up for study by the intelligent scientists during work hours produce fruitful scientific discovery. Much much less is discovered by mere accident. And even then, it is the intelligent scientist that interprets it and makes it useful for the advance of science.
So, there you have it, laboratories inhabited by intelligence produce exponentially more useful and practical discoveries every day than do the nighttime vacant ones. This constitutes scientific proof that intelligent design, and I am not afraid to say creation, is a far more credible theory of origins than evolution. So, every night when the scientists are tucked in their beds, they can rest assured that their laboratories are proving intelligent design.

Intelligence is the ability to pick up more than one dictionary and look up the definition of intelligence. Intelligence is the not just the ability to learn. It is also the ability to comprehend, and it is also the ability to apply reason. Which is something that several people who have commented here have not done too well. angeloslh, yes. So how does that affect what I wrote in my post? Are scientists in other timezones more effective when they are out of their laboratories. I have been in at least ten different timezones, and it seemed to me the effect of causal intelligence was always greater than causal chance. Therefore, in any time zone, it far easier to believe that an intelligent being created us, than to believe that life was formed by chance or unbelievably slow incremental changes effected by unbelievably slow natural processes.
That post contains mistakes and fallacies on so many levels that it makes my brain hurt just trying to enumerate them.
The most glaring of them is the assumption that discovery and understanding of natural processes and phenomena (what scientists do) is necessary for the existence of those same processes and phenomena.
Another is your claim that proof of the existence of a designer would prove that the particular god you choose to believe in actually exists. Maybe there is a designer (we have no proof either way though the complete lack of evidence suggests we should be cautious in assuming the there is one). but even if there was a designer – what’s to say that your interpretation of the Jaweh myth is the correct one? Maybe the Jews were right all along, maybe the Babylonians had it right.. In the words of RFD ” What if you’re wrong about the great Juju up the mountain?”

malcolm – the productivity of intelligence versus chance is a solid argument. This provides evidence that God exists. Another weighty piece of evidence is the Bible, which gangbox doesn’t like, but it IS quite a good piece of evidence. But, this post is not about that.

I guess Isaac would disagree with your proposal that scientists don’t discover anything by accident. But then again Isaac was a science fiction writer. Look man, I don’t mean to just pick on you, but your conclusion is a total non-sequitor. Even if intelligence is required to discover truth, as you say, that has little to say about the ORIGIN of that truth, and is certainly VERY far from showing that either intelligence or design would be required for it.
Think about it: these discoveries that scientists are making…would the truths still exist even if an intelligent scientist never designed a study to uncover those truths? The answer is clearly “yes.” We would still exist whether we realized it or not. Objective facts are independent of our ability to comprehend them.
Further more, your claim that your argument provides “scientific proof” of ANYTHING betrays your misunderstanding of the scientific experiment. There are no controls on your “study,” and the conclusion is anything but clear from the information that you provided.
The fact that we can all look at the INFORMATION you put on this page and draw wildly conflicting conclusions should show you, conclusively, that there is a high level is disorder here, and we, with our intelligence, are left to sift through it all. That’s hardly an intelligent design. Or maybe your god is just sloppy.
